Value creation vs value extraction entrepreneurial mindset
There are two fundamentally different orientations you can bring to business and work. Value extraction focuses on getting as much as possible from others — that's the typical employee mindset, and there's nothing wrong with it unless you want to build something of your own. Value creation is entirely different: it's putting things together to innovate, making new value appear from nothing, combining existing resources in novel ways that didn't exist before. Entrepreneurs are value creators by definition. The question is whether you've fully made that shift internally. Most people oscillate between the two mindsets depending on their stress level, their financial pressure, and whose room they're in. The goal is to make value creation your default operating mode — and that requires a deliberate, conscious decision.
