Win beforehand — plan strategy before the battle begins
The samurai philosophy I return to constantly is 'win beforehand.' The samurai practiced their approach over and over until victory was already assured before the battle began. If you wait until you're hungry to decide what to eat, you've already lost. If you wait until you're in a sales conversation to think about your positioning, you're already behind. The decisions about food, relationships, business, and money are most reliably made before the moment of temptation or pressure arrives. This is why I emphasize designing your ideal day in advance, establishing your three daily priorities the night before, and mapping your business strategy when you're in a calm, resourceful state — not when you're in the middle of a challenge. Winning is a design problem, not a willpower problem.

Samurai Win-Beforehand Strategy Applied to Business

If you wait until you're facing challenges with food, relationships, or business to make your plan, you'll almost certainly lose.
